Trisha graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology in 1997. While working diligently as a mother and holding a variety of positions in educating children and adults, Trisha gained her Academic Language Practitioner certification (CALP) in 2013 and began her private practice in Woodland Park, Colorado. In 2017 she earned her Master of Arts Degree in Teaching (MAT) from Colorado College.
As part of her Master’s program, she completed a research project focusing on how students’ mindset affects their ability to learn and how teachers can utilize a growth mindset, along with an evidence-based intervention, to enhance students’ ability to achieve literacy success. Trisha has been in private practice as a Literacy Interventionist and Dyslexia Specialist since 2013. In 2019 she created Peak Literacy LLC to better serve children and adults seeking literacy support in the Teller County area.
As an adult with dyslexia, a mother of two teenagers with dyslexia, and as a practitioner dedicated to helping those with dyslexia Trisha offers a unique and personal perspective on dyslexia intervention. She believes that all students and their families deserve a compassionate, engaging, and effective evidence-based intervention experience. It is her goal to help every student reach their reading potential.
Trisha is a wife and proud mother of two vivacious teenagers. She enjoys hiking, exciting adventures, traveling, Harry Potter, Dr. Who, scratch and sniff stickers, and hanging out with her family and friends.
